Julia Estelle Cotton is a versatile performer, producer, and writer.

Her storytelling talents were cultivated through her involvement in Dallas' Oral Fixation production, where she not only performed but also helped other artists shape narratives as the show’s Assistant Director. At the Dallas Comedy House, Julia launched "Gettin' It," a celebration of women's stories of pursuing their dreams, showcasing her commitment to uplifting voices in the community.

Julia co-founded FCC Presents, an all-black sketch troupe dedicated to bringing socially relevant live comedy to the stage. Her time at WFAA showcased her warmth and charisma as a host, and she used her platform to highlight inspiring stories with the recurring features "Rising Stars of Texas" and "Say Yes to You."

Beyond entertainment, Julia is passionate about giving back. She has worked with the North Texas Food Bank to connect resources with those facing food insecurity and is committed to advocating for equitable education through her work with Educate Texas.

Above all, Julia finds fulfillment in her role as a mother to Samuel and Aniah, drawing inspiration from her children to spread love and pursue excellence in everything she does. Her life is a testament to resilience, creativity, and the power of storytelling to create positive change.

Julia “Is Still”…

When I first learned my middle name, Estelle, I understood it as “is still.” So, whenever I said my full name, I would proudly declare, “Julia is still Cotton!” This simple phrase evolved into a powerful affirmation of resilience and self-acceptance.

I’ve adapted it over the years: "Julia is still fly. Julia is still smart. Julia is still killing it." In moments of doubt and adversity, I draw upon the strength embedded in my name, reminding myself that I am still standing, still learning, and still growing.

I aim to empower others with this mindset, inspiring confidence and determination while helping them discover their voices and narratives. I work to create environments where people feel encouraged to share their experiences, understanding that everyone’s story “is still” evolving and valuable to others. Through storytelling, we not only enrich our own lives but also create connections that transcend boundaries and unite us in our shared human experience.
